About

My life in international education as a teacher in the UK and Finland, and as a Head of School in Switzerland, Japan, Germany, and Oman, has provided me with diverse and insightful perspectives on intercultural leadership in schools, reinforced by subsequent accreditation work supporting and evaluating schools as an Associate Director at the Council of International Schools.

My journey has shaped my ability to understand the complex opportunities and challenges facing international schools. I have a keen appreciation of the cultural contexts that underpin my work with diverse school teams and governing boards.

My work centres on helping schools in key aspects of school governance and leadership: effective, efficient and enjoyable board work; clear and specific school guiding statements with planning to fulfil the promise; insightful performance assessment of the Board and Head of School; assuring quality, evaluation and planning for school success through a rigorous accreditation or IB authorisation process; and succession planning with thoughtful recruitment and an effective transition.
