4. Quality Assurance and Accreditation/Authorization

How do you know the school is doing well and how could it be even better? How can you assure quality?

Schools benefit hugely from using an accreditation framework to evaluate the school and to support development.  My experience of accreditation frameworks and a related understanding of key fundamentals of thinking and doing can help ensure school success, especially during an accreditation cycle or for IB authorization. 

401: How do we evaluate the school and raise its overall quality? Knowing ourselves and identifying areas for development.

We will look at how to conduct an audit of current quality and how to prepare for development well ahead of an accreditation visit. We will begin by reviewing an accreditation framework: its scope, intent and built in expectations. Following this, we will look at how to approach the analysis of standards and how a school might plan its development to meet expectations. This workshop can focus on one or many aspects of the school.

402: How do we prepare the school for IB authorization? Knowing ourselves and identifying areas for development.

I work with school leadership to assess how well the school is aligned to the expectations of the IB ahead of an authorisation visit. I help identify matters to be addressed and can offer ideas to help ensure that the school is prepared for the visit.
